Truck Routes and Weight Limits Shape Every Call Here

Heavy Duty Towing in Jurupa Valley has one local wrinkle that most towns do not: the city regulates where heavy trucks may drive, and the rules changed recently. Jurupa Valley is a Riverside County city of 105,053 people (2020 census) with nine communities, including Mira Loma, Pedley and Rubidoux. Its incorporation took effect on July 1, 2011. Dispatch answers 24/7.

Where the city sits

The city lies north and west of the Santa Ana River, across from the city of Riverside, south of the county line and east of Interstate 15. I-15 is its western border, and State Route 60 runs along the northern side. That puts the city between two freeways that carry port freight inland. Neighbors include Eastvale, Norco and Riverside in Riverside County, and Ontario, Fontana, Rialto, Bloomington and Colton in San Bernardino County. The city covers 43.68 square miles.

Ordinance 2025-31

The City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2025-31 on December 18, 2025, adding Chapter 12.37, Truck Routes and Truck Weight Restrictions, to the municipal code. It designates truck routes for commercial vehicles with a gross weight rating of 16,000 pounds or more. Examples in the staff report include all of Van Buren Boulevard within city limits, Limonite Avenue from I-15 to Van Buren Boulevard, and Mission Boulevard from SR 60 to Rubidoux Boulevard. Vehicles over 16,000 pounds are barred from listed stretches such as Etiwanda Avenue from Riverside Drive to Bellegrave Avenue and Jurupa Road from Camino Real to Valley Way. The ordinance carries several exemptions, including deliveries to buildings on a restricted street, emergency vehicles and heavy trucks traveling for food, rest or repairs under federal rules. The text does not mention tow trucks.

What that means for a recovery

We cannot promise how a given enforcement officer will see a particular street. What we do is plan the route with you. If you are on a restricted street, we tell you what we know and keep our own movements on designated truck routes where we can. Give us the exact cross street so we can decide how to approach.

Mira Loma, Wineville and the warehouse side

Mira Loma was called Wineville until November 1, 1930. The city's own ordinance calls Jurupa Valley "a major logistics shipping and receiving center for Southern California." Expect tractors waiting for dock doors, trailers parked on private lots and drivers resting in the cab between loads. Tell us the building name or street address and whether the truck is on private property.

Rubidoux, Pedley and the river

Rubidoux and Pedley are two of the city's nine communities. The Jurupa Valley/Pedley Metrolink station is in the city, and so are Rancho Jurupa Regional Park and Flabob Airport. On the south side, the Santa Ana River separates the city from Riverside. If you are heading across a river bridge, check the posted height and weight limits first.
